I'm a freelance artist who has worked in Grande Prairie from 2011-September 2016, assisted by the Ventures program at Community Futures.  I do face painting for birthday parties and larger events: I've painted at the Relay for Life, the Telus Walk to cure Diabetes, the Scotiabank MS Walk, Easter and New Year's Eve and Municipal day celebrations at Muskoseepi park, corporate Christmas parties and more. Recently I have relocated to NW Calgary, where I will continue face painting! With this much experience you know you are getting quality for your money!
I'm compliant with Albert Health Services' guidelines for sanitary face painting practices.  No way would I be in contact with peoples' faces without making sure everything is clean and safe.
Quality of the face art comes first, but a close second is efficiency. I can paint about 10 full faces on kids in an hour.
I believe the face is a living canvas.  Face painting is not just a way of entertaining kids; it's a form of art.  I endeavor to make my work reflect such a mindset.

I use Mehron's Paradise paints and Kryolan's Aquacolor paints for bases because they are safe and easy to wash off with soap and water or wipes, yet don't fade easily, even under accidental splashing! I also use Wolfe black and white for outlining. I also hardly use split cakes, as I prefer the traditional method of blending colours, and the expanded options provided by mixing indivdual hues, just as one would when painting on canvas.

I started face painting when I was 13 but really only decided to do face art when I was almost 15. My opinion is that face art needs some young blood to keep it going!

I also do window painting. I enjoy anything to do with piano, including composition and arrangement. Anything that includes art, count me in!
